i grew up in the atari,sega genesis,SNES era. a time where arcades were actually worth going to…and though i appreciate 3D, few kids of this new generation may have never thought of trying games like Q*bert, BURGER TIME,CONTRA,SUPER C,(CONTRA 3),CONTRA 4(SNES)even POCKY & ROCKY(SNES)the 2D METROID SERIES,2D CASTLEVANIA, just because they are not 3D,(some handhelds have 2D i know)i could go on and on, but these 2D games were the most memorable, fun games as a gamer i have ever experienced. yes i know technology must move 4ward, but i still love my 2D games and one series that should 4ever stay 2D is the SF(streetfighter)series. some 2D games dont translate well to 3D, again the SF series. shucks i almost 4got DOUBLE DRAGON 2(love the game), but then if it wasnt 4 3D no HALO, no GOD OF WAR, and true gamers out there, PLAY DRAGON QUEST VIII now…my point is,2D haters,dont hate,appreciate theDIMENSION that paved the way for those 3D games we all know and love now.

My boys (11, 9) lost everything they own to a house fire in early October intentionally set by their father (allegedly). Therefore, Insurance is dragging their feet to cover anything. I am completely broke from replacing everything (slowly) and paying for a furnished apt. (almost 2 grand/mo). Now Christmas is days away and I have $50 in my acct. Not even a tree yet. What do I do??? My boys were “gamers” they had handhelds and consoles. Computers etc. First of all don’t want to replace their “old” things for christmas, shouldnt it be new and exciting? Also, these boys have been incredible and amazing through all of this…the fire, the separation from their dad, move to a new town and new school etc, all in about 3 months time. They deserve something great!! Where should I turn?
