Retro consoles (NES, SNES, GB, N64, GC.), need some advice?

Sebastian P. asked:

I’m going to start a collection of Nintendo consoles and handhelds but I have a few questions about them.

Firstly, the gameboy. I was thinking of buying a GBA SP+ to be able to play all the GB, GBC and GBA games. However i’m not sure if that would be the right thing. What are the advantages of using the SP’s backwards compatibility and would it be better (in terms of quality and capability) to use a GameBoy and a GameBoy Color?

Also tell me if a Game Boy Micro would be worth it if I already have an SP.

Being a big nintendo fan (not a fanboy mind you) I also want to collect all the accessories, all the nintendo branded ones. I tried wikipedia but I couldn’t find a reliable list of Accessories with all the info. Can you please link me?

Lastly, I understand that if would be impossible to find these brand new, but I wanted to buy them online, fully refurbished and in their original package.

I found this: http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/ but I’m not sure if ii should trust them. Are there any other good websites?

Thanks.

Best Handheld camcorder for short film making?

swbellah714 asked:

I’m looking into buying a inexpensive (meaning, under $1000) video camera to record a short film, and eventually even a full-length feature. I can’t afford any high priced camera like that Panasonic AG-DVC30 or a DVX-100. So, I’ve been looking at a much smaller (and cheaper) alternative. I think both the Canon HG10 and HV30 look great, especially in 24p mode. What is the difference between MiniDV and recording to hard drive in terms of quality? It would be much easier for me to get the (cheaper) HG10, record everything directly to hard drive, and edit directly from that. But, I’ve heard that MiniDV is the best format, but I can’t tell much of a difference, personally.

Again, I don’t have a ton of money, otherwise I’d splurge on a nice $3000 camera–but I can’t. Do these handhelds really produce good quality, or are they better suited for filming the dog?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How do I get my old palm info into my new palm?

yournamehere asked:

I had a treo 650 which had an older version of the palm operating system and now I have a Centro which has the new 5.4.9 (same as treo 700p). I no longer have my old phone to beam my old info into my new phone. I have all these phone numbers and applications on the palm desktop that I would love to sync with my new phone. I tried using the old phone’s “name” and syncing my new phone.

- I tried putting some of my contacts into a folder and adding that into “install handheld files” for my next sync, they all went to my sd card (or so it said) but when I tried to change the destination to the handheld the program said they couldn’t go to the handheld.
- I tried re-naming my old handheld’s username with my new handhelds’s name and I got another error. The computer knew it was a different device and said no.

Is there an option somewhere that lets you share files between different devices? Is there a program. This is so annoying. Thanks for any help.

Alucard asked:

I’m going away for about two months to a relative’s house who live in another city ( it’s more of an obligation ) , anyways since I can’t take my ps3 with me , I’m thinking about buying either a psp or a Nintendo DS so I won’t kill myself out of boredom .

I’ve never even looked at those handhelds before cause small screens turn me off , but it’s time to buy one .

I like japanese rpgs , I like rpgs in general , also original games with creative ideas are a plus for me , so I’m gonna buy the system that has more of those ( the controls in that system mean a lot too ) , any information you have about either systems would be greatly appreciated , Thank you .

Questions about PDAs?

Diana B asked:

Okay, so I start college in the fall and I’m getting a MacBook. For the past 3 years I’ve been using a planner for everything. I am kinda obsessed with it. I can’t go anywhere without it. The problem? It’s really bulky. So, inspired by “27 Dresses”, I want to get a palm. I looked at what appeared to be the only 3 handhelds Palm had. I’m thinking the middle priced one is the one I like. I like the WiFi part. Tungsten, maybe? Okay, and the questions start:

1) With my MacBook, I have to get the Office Suite for Mac. Will that be compatible with the Word/Excel/Powerpoint stuff on the Palm? Will it sync correctly?

2) I plan on studying abroad and I love to travel but I always get frustrated writing notes when I think of something on the plane. Now, it says it works on the plane. It won’t interfere or anything, will it?

3) Should I get this? I don’t want the Palm phone because I love my phone. It works wonderfully. And with WiFi I won’t have to pay the $30 a month to use internet!
